Why do you believe in God?

What makes you believe in what the bible says especially when there are multiple religions in the world?

because my God has never failed me, and he won't fail me. He is an all knowing, all loving God. I am his child, and I will not stray from his love, no matter what happens.

Because the only reason I didn't commit suicide and the only reason why I have been recovered from drug addiction for three years is because of God. Nothing else filled my emptiness.

I don't. Proud atheist. 
Grew up in a Christian home and lost my faith after seeing all the evil in the world. 
If God was present he wouldn't let such awful things happen, like my sister smoking meth while pregnant.

**Just to clarify I'm not being rude, only staying my beliefs just like the OP did.**
Nothing anyone says to disagree will make me change my views. I went to church 3 times a week for 18 years and still don't believe, so any negative comments won't make a difference to me...
Also to clarify: I don't care if other people believe in God, that's fine with me, everyone has to have something to believe in. However, I believe in science.

I believe because I should be dead multiple times as a child but I know God has something bigger and important for me o do in life. God has given me a heart of love and understanding of others. I lost my baby in February and I'll be honest I couldn't understand why God would take my baby when I prayed and prayed. I did everything right first time I had sex was my wedding day. But I prayed for my baby's health and my baby was born with the organs outside of the body and would've suffered and been in pain and multiple surgeries to fix it. God answered my prayers even though it wasnt how I wanted them to be answered. My baby isn't suffering anymore, my baby is in God's arms. He had mercy on my baby and did heal. God didn't make my baby deformed, that happened because we live in a sinful world, but God did save my baby and He will give me another one to take home with me. Bad things happen and we don't know why and God allows it yes but He doesn't make it that way.

 To know that I am so loved, that I have purpose, a story, a God who created everything and provides for me, I have such reassurance and so much peace, even when I can't see how I'm going to make it through something. And then on top of it, there are all the little signs of Him demonstrated in my own life. Prayers that I never even told anyone about that were answered that had NO logical reason they should have been answered. Provision for my needs even when there's NO reason why that need should have been met. He's always been faithful; he's always been there. His beauty is evident to me. And he ALWAYS brings good out of every bad and evil thing that happens. Good does triumph over evil and will 100% ultimately come to a final state of triumph. God saves lives. We believe in firefighters when they save lives from fires. But we believe the person must just be relying on something imaginary or unreal if they say God/Jesus saved their life. I can tell you that back in January on a study abroad trip, I had a trying time and I came the closest I ever have to killing myself one day. I kept picturing how I could simply walk off a cliff and pretend to scream and everyone would think I'd simply slipped. Or how I could just dive under the ocean waters and swim down down down, to where I couldn't come back up again in time, and just refuse to move my limbs. I was SOO close to doing it. But He didn't let me, because His purposes for me aren't finished yet. That's AMAZING! That's LOVE! A father who cares endlessly, deeply, fiercely for his children! And I am a cherished daughter :) That is why I believe.

Because God has pulled me back into the light when I was at my darkest point. God has given me the best husband and God has provided us with our baby.

I've also seen him work miracles in my own family. 
My cousin was drunk driving and turned into a train track and got stuck. There was a train heading straight toward him. He got hit head on. He survived. No broken bones, only some bruises and a collapsed lung.

My husbands best friend could have died 2 weeks ago. He was in a truck with a drunk driver and made him pull over on the side of the highway so he could get out. 2 miles later that truck got into an accident leaving 1 dead (the driver) and 2 injured. My husbands friend would have died. 
God was telling him to get out of that truck so he did.
