Shaving

So when I hit puberty and started growing hair down there, my mom told me not to shave it. Well, I did one day and I think more grew (I dont remember). Ever since then ive wanted to shave it because im just tired of it, but im afraid if I do more will grow. Do yall think that will happen? Ive heard that waxing doesn't make more grow, is that true?
