Anyone heard of this? Or even experienced it?

I was talking to a co-worker about delivery. She asked how my fiance would do in the delivery room. She said her husband doesn't get nauseous but he did as soon as he smelt the baby come out... Has anybody else ever heard of this?

Idk never remember no smell I know some people use there bowels why giving birth and that's natural I was lucky not to maybe it was that?

Never heard or read anything about this. I have given birth 3 times and been in the room for 2 other births and never noticied a particular smell...

Are you asking about the smell? I think there is a smell in some births maybe the placenta?

My husband is very weak about shots and blood draws on himself. With our first he almost passed out when I was getting my epidural and had to go lay down. That was the only time though he was really good during the delivery. Surprisingly good and involved. He even watched down there for a couple of pushes. This time I will kick him out during the epidural to avoid all that non sense. I may be having a scheduled c section this time though so I'm a bit worried about how he will be in the operating room.

My man wants to watch my csection.. like he literally wants to see everything because be thinks it's cool but he doesn't think he can change a poopy diaper!

I hope my hubby will do okay. He doesnt do the sight of blood so he will stay near my head. But he is the only support I will have since I have no family in the area.

My husband's number one job with our first born was to be my support. I didn't want him to watch the birth, so he stayed up by my head. Of course, if he had wanted to witness it I would have let him, but he seemed ok with my decision. So I had one nurse holding one leg and my mom holding the other. My mom said it was a good thing he didn't look because not only did I tear, but I also pushed out my bladder.

I hate blood and I was able to be a part of my sisters delivery. Just stay by the head for support

I'm not having my husband in the labour room. He has never been queasy about blood. But watching his expressions every time the talk of labour comes up shows me that he will most probably be traumatised and freaked out. I think I'll be okay with the medical team and don't want to worry about him at the time of delivery, so I just told him that I am uncomfortable letting him see me like that and if he doesn't mind I'd rather have no one apart from the medical staff with me. I also come from a traditional society (Pakistan), where pregnancy, laboral and birth are strictly seen as women's issues and mostly men are brought up to view birth as a hushed up, tabboo thing that they are embarrassed to approach. So, I have been surprised and glad that he has been very engaged throughout the pregnancy and is okay with being the only one in the hospital with me when I go into labour (Usually one is accompanied by elder women including moms, mother in laws or elder sisters if mothers are not around). My mom will travel after the baby's birth at my request and I was getting really stressed at the thought of having my mother in law around while I go through labour. She is the sweetest person ever but I am very private and would have been too uncomfortable letting her see me in pain and / or in weird positions. So for me, it will ideally be, husband in the hospital but not in the labour room when the time comes. Anyone else, joins only after birth.

I too am worried about this. My husband can not see his own blood because he will pass out.  No question about it. My family knows this, especially my mom and we will let the staff know just in case. He swears he will be fine.. But I know better. Just in case... We will be monitoring him and have a chair near by😍
