Anyone on or have tried Letrozole?

Question

I got a call from my doctors assistant stating that he wants to start me on Letrozole because of my uterine lining!!!!

I am not sure what was meant about that but I have a baseline appointment on Friday for some tests before I start the medication, I am sure I will get all my questions answered.

I'm curious if any of you ladies have tried it and what were your results??!!

Hello! I've done 3 rounds of letrozole and got a positive ovulatation test around cycle day 15. My doctor also suggested this drug instead of chlomid because my uterine lining is a little thin and this would be better for that. I liked that I didn't have any side effects. Also I received my first BFP on Saturday so I'm a huge believer in the drug. Good luck and I hope this works for you!

My doc said Letrozole doesn't thin the lining like Clomid does, I just started my first round today and I am a bit nervous because we have been trying for about 4 years and have already had 2 confirmed miscarriages due to a blood clotting disorder. We just learned this past month that I hardly ever ovulate :/ any information would be greatly appreciated and I am new to Glow so I am not sure how all this works.

I just started it as well and it is actually meant for women with breast cancer but found it can be used for unexplained fertility. I'm excited to see how it works. I used clomid with bfn but I ovulate just fine.

I just had my day 13 US and I have 3 big follicles. And my lining looks good. The doctor was very pleased about my reaction to the meds.  I do a trigger shot tonight and then progesterone after that. It's my fist month using it but it seems to have done it's job as far as stimulation and not thining my lining.

I was on it for 14 months. Never messed with my lining, but clomid did.  We combined Femara with iui, 14 times and nothing so we moved to
Ivf. It has worked for many though!

Hi I am new to glow and I am on my third round of this med and at same time my first round since my four month break I responded really well this month and for first time I have to eggs ready to go one on each side I am a week in after my hcg trigger shot and started my progesterone supplement a week ago also and now I have this pain in my uterus has anyone else had this my doctor says it could be a good sign or it's just the progesterone keeping my lining thick for inplanation but won't know till he 12th but the pain makes me nervous and not sure how to handle this any thoughts

Also! When I picked up my script for Letrozole the bottle said do not take this medicine if you are prego or trying to become prego...anybody know why they would prescribe it if the FDA says not to?

Hi Massy - I've done 5 cycles of letrozole + IUI. I've taken 5-7.5 mg of the letrozole for 5 days each cycle, from CD 3-7 or 4-8. Four out of the five times it helped me produce more follicles (like 2-4). My uterine lining has looked "beautiful" according to the doctor each time, but I'm not sure that had anything to do with the letrozole, the doc never mentioned the connection. The only bad news is that my 5 cycles of letrozole + IUI did not help me conceive. I also recently went to get a second opinion at Cornell and that doctor said that the very latest research shows that Clomid is actually slightly better at assisting fertility. (Although I've heard the side effects with Clomid can be worse.) Letrozole can make me bloated and thirsty but that's it in terms of side effects. Good luck!

I'm on my first round of it. We have been trying for almost a year but I have PCOS and late ovulation and AF is very short. The fertility specialist recommended it to speed up ovulation and thicken my lining. It also has a higher success rate and less side effects compared to clomid.

Anyone on or have tried Letrozole?
