Metformin?

I don't have diabetes, but I do have PCOS. I'm not certain whether I ovulate regularly, but likely not. When I tried Clomid, I did not ovulate. Has anyone had success with Metformin (diabetes medicine)

I have been on metformin for about a month and a half for PCOS.  Right at the one month mark I got my first period in nearly 5 months. I am now doing blood draws to test progesterone levels every few weeks to see if I am ovulating.

Iam taking it too and on month 3 my follicles were the biggest they have been this month and more of them so I'm hoping this is our month bc I hate taking two pills a day & I want baby #2!!! Best wishes to you & everyone else!

I started metformin (500mg 2x/day) feb 2012 after being dx with pcos.  I never had a cycle while taking it, my periods were always withdrawal bleeding from taking progesterone.  Added clomid (50 mg) to the metformin and got my BFP with cycle 2.  Everyone responds differently so I'd talk to your doc.  There are meds other than clomid that can be used to induce ovulation. I'm taking clomid CD2-6 and I'm taking metformin 3xdaily. Have been on this combo for 6 cycles and still no luck yet.

Hi,it's my second day of taking metformin,we've been TTC for almost 2 years after my ectopic pregnancy last 2012..i will keep you posted:)
