How should a 16 year old that sexually active ask her father about getting one birth control (but he doesn't know I'm sexually active)

Say that you want to be safe and responsible because it's happening and you want to be smart about it. He will understand! Once parents realize it's already happening, they usually quit trying to convince you not to do it and start trying to make sure you're safe about it.

You could mention that your periods are heavier or your cramps are really bad. He doesn't need details, nor does he probably want them, but once you get to the doctor that's all you have to tell them & they more than likely will give you birth control.

There is a lot of reasons as to why females should be on birth control- regulate periods, hormonal levels, and to reduce the risk of falling pregnant. Doesn't mean you're "sexually active" you're being smart... 
You don't "have" to be sexually active to fall pregnant, rape happens to all different type of women and you can't say "it won't happen to me" that was my excuse asking my grandma to take me to the Dr, and it worked.
