Heavy flow?

I haven't had my period since January, and now that I'm having it, it's super heavy! I was wondering how common that is for not having it that long?!

Prior to starting metformin, my once or twice a year periods would be very heavy.  It may be your body regulating.  Once I became regular, I would have heavy bleeding the first 36 hours and them it would taper very quickly.

Although everyone is different, I would say it's fairly common.
