How awful is divorce?

Is going through a divorce really that bad when there are no kids involved? Thinking about divorcing because we argue more than we enjoy each other other's company. We also hardly have sex due to work/travel schedules. Just feel we are friends not lovers.

Nope.  If you all agree on everything it can take as little as 90 days (waiting period in some states) go to court and all done.

Ive been through a divorce with no children involved. We'd been married just over two years and I had learned that he'd been unfaithful on top of being verbally abusive to me and dishonest with finances. He did contest it at the beginning, which drug the process out a bit. Luckily, the  loan for the house was only in my name (he couldn't get approved for a loan) he dos come around and was civil enough to attend the mediation and we divided up our belongings. Our whole process went from the end of August to the end of December. Probably the toughest part of everything has been getting my name changed back on bills and everything. If this is truly what you want, go for it... It was the best decision I've made.

It's even easy with kids. Mine was looooong over due but with the right attorney we have 50/50 sharing and has been a breeze. Its all how well you can agree and get along. And use an attorney!! Its your back up

For me it was easy cuz my ex husband basically gave me everything. Plus he wasn't around to pack up his stuff he let me and my mom do it so that was fun for us cuz we made sure every one of his boxes had wedding cards or anniversary cards or pictures of us or something on top that he had to see to get to his stuff.

My SO got divorced- his ex wife was having an affair and he didn't want anything financially and just wanted rid of her-  if you cite irreconcilable differences and both are in agreement then it should be really straight forward. If you can amicably agree how to split any assets and if both are happy to leave with what you each brought in it is even easier. As there are no children any financial arrangements should be simple and be split either as agreed between the two of you or what is stated in law where u live- this may be 50/50 regardless of what you have each contributed.
