Boyfriend doesn't like me "being too cheesy"

It doesn't happen every single day but occasionally I like to be thoughtful or very cutesy and express my thoughts and feelings to my man for example "babe you're so cute when you're sleeping!! You adorable thing" well not exactly like that but you guys get the gist ok so sometimes when he wants me to stop I wouldn't say it makes me upset but rather a little bit low because it's just how my personality is and how I am in the relationship and he's known that this is how I am from the start but is there a limit to how much of being cheesy there is? Or am I just over in my head lol
