What to register for

Question

First time mom! So I'm now 12 weeks and I'm starting to think about making a list for my registry. Does anyone know of where I can find a really good list online with everything I'll need? I've found a couple but I just wanted to know if there was any in particular that anyone used and found very helpful/useful.

A majority of the ones I've found online or from stores are way over the top. You don't literally need everything on those lists, but it is kind of a personal preference. Target and babies r us have good lists to start with but don't feel obligated to register for everything on those lists. They are still in the business of making money!

Check out Lucys List online or the book Baby Bargains.  I agree with the previous commenter that the stores' lists are outrageous and of course will feature the more expensive products to make more $.

You really don't "need" a whole lot for a newborn. Just think of a place to eat, a place to sleep, and stuff to keep clean.

I had minimal minimal... A car seat of course. He slept in a rock-n-play and I had three swaddle blankets. 
I breastfed so I had a boppy and 3 burp cloths (and a snack box for me) 
For staying clean, I had a baby bathtub with J&J soap, boxes of diapers, wipes, desitin, soft hand towels, a blanket I put down to change him.

Then for clothes, I had maybe... 5-8 onesies, 3 pants, a jacket, 3 pairs of gloves and socks and two jammies. I did laundry very often....

Everything else is a bonus. But definitely add those bonuses to your registry in case a friend/relative wants to buy it :)
