Is it safe for a baby to sleep on just a crib mattress with the fitted sheet on it? Thanks in advance

That is how it's recommended. Obviously inside the crib... Idk why she would say on the floor... But yes fitted sheet only no bumpers and no blankets or toys

All a baby needs in the crib is a mattress with a properly fitting fitted sheet. If you really are worried about them getting an arm or leg stuck, you can get a mesh bumper... But generally they aren't needed.

If you're worried about the baby getting cold (my husband keeps the thermostat on 68 year round, so our house is definitely on the cool side), consider a sleep sack! They are blankets that zip around the baby so they stay on. You don't have to worry about them kicking it off and getting cold or if they might smother themselves in it. Extra bonus-- when they are more mobile, it covers their feet so it makes it a lot harder for them to try and climb out of the crib! My daughter is 18 months and still uses hers. Plan to keep it up with #2!

There's nothing wrong with having just a mattress on the floor. My nephew slept that way for years and was fine. I'm not doing it only because there's scorpions and big ol spiders crawling around everywhere here. Cribs are nice because you don't have to worry about your kid going anywhere but it's not necessary.

Yes! That's all that was in my sons crib for the first year. Never tried mesh crib bumper but heard they are ok to use. I was super worried about sids.
