Help!! 😫 early labour, small baby??
Hi everyone! So I went to my 31 week midwife appointment on Wednesday last week... everything was normal except for my belly measurement and my urine. I was 31 weeks and measuring 28cm. At my 28 week appointment I'd measured 29cm, so it was all a bit of a shock. I also had ketones in my urine... which my midwife put down to not eating enough (I've been eating more than enough and keeping hydrated). She referred me for a growth scan the following day at the hospital and, sure enough, my baby was measuring quite small. I saw a senior doctor and a specialist who both advised me that my baby would definitely be delivered before 37 weeks, however they booked me in for weekly growth scans and a Doppler scan this coming Thursday. They've said they'll deliver whenever my baby drops below the 10th centile or if the blood flow or fluid levels drop. On the Saturday evening (2 days after my appointment) I started to feel really unwell... needed to wee constantly, had some stomach tightening, felt exhausted and a bit feverish. I eventually went to hospital and they said my urine lit up like illuminations and that I had a definite nasty urine infection. I was prescribed penicillin and sent home. The past few days I've still felt incredibly tired (which could be down to the medication), had some really thick stringy discharge, felt really anxious and panicky about going anywhere, had faint spells and broke out in really hormonal spots around my jaw. I've also had 3 - 4 emotional breakdowns and just burst into tears. My grandma on my mums side also had afternoon tea with her mother (my great grandmother) today and it turns out my great grandmother had 4 really small babies and actually went into natural labour early with all of them. She'd also been told her babies were smaller than average and may be brought early, but they came on their own early! My great auntie only weighed 3 pounds at birth. Now I'm panicking that I'm going to go into labour early... what are the signs?! Or am I just paranoid 😫☹️ what was the outcome for anyone else who had weekly growth scans? xxx
