40 weeks 1 cm dialated 50% effaced so does this mean I can't go into labor ??

Question

So can I not go into labor with contractions until I'm more dialated ??? Does this sound like a c section is coming ?

I'm 38+5 and 1cm with 50% effaced. It shouldn't mean you can't go into labor, they can try a membrane sweep and inducing you before a c section i would think. With my first I wasn't dilated at all or effaced and I was induced at 40+3 days. Good luck!
