Is it really nevessary to wash the new baby clothes before wear?

Ppl are telling me that I should wash the baby clothes but I dont see the point since they're new... Right?

I definitely would. For a couple of reasons. 1. Although they a baby clothing, they still clothing and some manufacturers treat clothing to preserve. Not all but some. I used to work retail and the manufacturer dipped clothing in something similar to phermalderhyde. 2. On the rack, lots and lots of people touch the clothes looking for what they need. Thats just me tho

You should always wash new clothing.. There are chemicals used on them to preserve colors etc (this includes formaldehyde). They are low levels, but can cause skin irritation, especially to a newborns sensitive skin. So yes.. It's necessary to wash them first.

I honestly never washed any of my kids clothes before they wore them and they were perfectly fine. Not saying its right or wrong but I had no problems. Although  I did wash their bedding before using it.

My son got a horrible rash because i didn't wash an outfit before i put him in it.

The clothes are treated with harsh chemicals. Its better just to wash them before putting them on baby.

Ew. I worked at Kohls for years. Clothes get thrown on the floor, stepped on, carts rolled over them. People constantly coughing and sneezing all over everything. Back rooms are so dusty where they store the clothes. People do try baby clothes on their babies sometimes. They buy them and return them. Snotty noised kids touching everything. I could go on. Trust me, wash them.

You don't know how many people have touched, sneezed, or coughed on the clothes while they were hanging in the store. I would wash before putting a new born in them.

I wouldn't do all of them right away. Since you don't really know what size your baby will be wearing you might need to return some of they are the wrong sizes.
