The man I am seeing is white and I'm  black. I knew him for 2 years and we just started being with each other  intimately. He says  he want me to meet his family  but don't know if he can handle being with a black woman. So the question  is, 3 months of going  back and fourth, and his family is openly racist. Would you  continue to put  your emotions  on the line if it's possibly  heading no where?

Uh. No. I would have said HELL no at "doesn't know if he can date a black person". That's not okay at all. I'm mixed and my boyfriend is white, if he had said something like that (he would never) there wouldn't be an "us".

I'm mixed, Caucasian & African American. My ex was Caucasian & he would have a grandpa in his family who was racist. He simply just never brought me around him. But his whole family, I'm not sure how i could have handled that. It's up to you, if he's really close with his family then i wouldn't see it working out.

I'm black and my hubby is white. Neither of our families have ever had or expressed aby issue with us being together. If my man had ever told me he wasn't sure if he could be with a black chick I would've told him bye right then! You're worth more than that. And if he can't see that now, cut your losses and move on. Would you really want to have a child with a man whose family is racist, and who doesn't even have the balls to openly and proudly be with you?

If it's going no where then no I'd move on. However of yall have a future and yall want to be together then as bad as it might sound screw what other people think. On the other hand eventually his family might come around. I am white, and I date black men. I have a baby by a black man. My parents never liked it however as time went they got used to it. And now that I have my now six year old me dating black is like second nature to them lol. Now my dad's family don't like the whole black and white thing. Especially his mom and one his brother and bad things happened, not to me or my daughter. Ones of his brothers was the same way but after his daughter got into a relationship with a black man and had a baby and got to know that man his outlook changed and said to my dad " they are grown and are going to chose to be with whom they want to and as their parents we have to support their decisions" after I had my baby the family my dad has that is still alive has come around to except it and adores the he'll out of my daughter. So you have to ask yourself if this man is worth it and if he really wants you and this relationship then the two of you will have to work together to make it work. Because despite the year we are in there some people in this world who will never get over a black person and a white person being together.

I'm half black half white and my bf is white. His uncle is very racist and doesn't really approve of him dating me but my bf said he doesn't care. I've met his whole family even his uncle. I told him I'm not gonna be a secert tho. In my past relationships everyone used the race card on why I couldn't meet their family so I told my bf I either meet them or we aren't in a relationship anymore.

Im so grateful that my family never saw an issue with my attraction to other ethnicities outside of 'white' what a judgemental world. I would not be with someone who ever mentioned anything about my skin color, simply because it should be irrelevant

Thank you  everyone  for  your  advise. I really did let him know how I felt. He said wants to change for me and that he's  working on it.  But I also told him I couldn't  wait. So he's working on it.
