Not at all what I expected
This was my 4th and final baby. Expected it to be just like my other birth, pretty quick, normal and full term. This little boy had other plans. On June 9th I woke up at 3:30am with horrible contractions 3 to 4 minutes apart. I got all of everyones things packed and decided to let Hubby sleep until 7, thats our normal wake up time for him to go to work. Around 5:30am I started bleeding, alot. I called his sister and she came and took me to the hospital. They put me in triage, monitor contractions and bleeding, decided I was at 2cm and indeed in preterm labor. Gave me lots of meds to try and stop labor. Didn't work so I was admitted, after several attempts and meds they slowed a good amount and the bleeding slowed. Did ultrasound baby was fine and head down. They never checked me again cause they didn't want me to bleed more. I spent the next 4 days and 3 nights there from June 9th until June 12th. On the 12th they decided I was stable enough to go home. Left hospital around 1pm. Went striaght home and laid down. Stayed on the couch except to go to bathroom. Well on June 13th around 1:30am I woke with pretty painful contractions, but not too bad. I couldn't go back to sleep so I showered and had a snack. Contractions slowed and I fell back asleep until hubby had to get up for work. He left my mom came over and the pains kept getting worse, by 1pm I was ready to go back to hospital. Hubby got off and dropped me and my mom off around 3pm so he could stay with boys. With in an hour of being at triage, the worst contractions I've ever had, continuous bleeding they checked me, couldn't feel my cervix, just a huge bulging water sack. Doctor had to call another doctor to get second opinion, and do ultrasound. Which found baby to be transverse or sideways and I was at 4cm. My doctor came in and said we had to do an emergency csection and get him out now before my water brok and he started comingout feet first. My water broke not long after that but there was so much blood. I started to panick, hubby rushed to hospital and then we got prepped for my first csection. Jeremiah Renaldo Matney was born at 31 weeks 4 days, 4lbs and 17inches at 6:29. It was the scariest, happiest time. Not hearing him cry or make a sound or even see him was soo stressful and disheartening. Hubby assured me he was alive and ok. They finished up with me, cleaned him up and wrapped him and I seen him for a brief moment long enough to give him a kiss. When I got backto recovery, hubby was waiting with pictures, it was amazing and sad at the same time. I didnt actually get to see him until the next afternoon, with all his wires and monitors. Not at all what I expected, but then again I didn't expect him to even live. I spent that whole week in the hospital with him. Came home that Thursday without my baby, the harsest most emtional thing. Now hes a week old and doing soo good one .9 oxygen and has a feeding tube, got his IV out a few days agom I just hope his progres keeps up Mommy is so very proud of him but so ready for him to come home. Hopefully soon.
