Test results, too soon to be happy?

​i m 35 and trying for our first baby! My periods were due last friday and nothing yet. Did a test last sunday and it was negative. Then again on Wednesday with a faint line but thursday with a different brand test shows Yes! As excited as i could be, i went to the doctor on friday for blood test and my results shows 230 beta. My doctor is away so i cannot know what it means. Over some internet searches, shows that below 250 is no go, but some say over 5 is good. Please help! Was the blood work too early?
