Pros and Cons to breast pumping?

Question

My mom tells me no but what am I supposed to do when my breasts get engorged and hurt like hell? Nothing makes them better fast enough

I exclusivity breast pump,I hate it but I have too since Breast feeding didn't work for me or my daughter 😞

I pumped w/both... The way I look at it is there are NO cons to it.

Pros:

Anyone can feed your baby (hubby or family can help u take turns day or night to let u rest more which is important to keep supply)

Burn more calories = lose more weight

Higher supply so u can freeze the extra and save when u run "dry" or decide u can't/don't wanna do it anymore or if u get sick & need certain meds that are unsafe baby can still have breast milk

Feeding times are faster bc pumping takes half the time

PUMP PUMP PUMP IT UP!!! i strictly pumped with my LO for two months and it was great! plus if you pump like every 2-3 hours, as if your baby was feeding, it increases supply and allows you to maintain it for longer. and if its possible, try to get a hospital grade pump. they worked the best in my experience. you are a mom now, so go with your instincts!

Do it! There are no cons to it!! You can also freeze the milk for when you need it. I have pumped from day 2 pp

There are no Cons to pumping except the actual process.  I've been pumping for 67 days now because my baby is in the NICU.  I've built an excellent supply and will be able to nurse when he's ready!

Pump! If you don't get the milk out somehow (through pumping or baby feeding) you could get an infection in your milk ducts. Pumping is fine and you'll keep your supply up!

You could feed your baby, and then your supply will adjust to babys demand. If you are still full after feedings, and baby is happy- you could pump the excess and freece it. Be aware that pumping does not empty the breast as good as a baby, and with just pumping its hard to keep up your milk supply.

Other, try a warm shower, and handmilk the worst away :)
