Ladies with dyed hair?

I just turned 18 & still live at home in would like to dye my hair but my mom disagrees with me and keeps telling me that adult women don't dye their hair so I shouldn't. I'm job hunting and so she is worried I might not get the job because of my hair. I love my mom and respect her opinion and I see where she's coming from. Any advice on whether I should dye my hair or not?

I'm 21 years old and I've got bright purple hair and I absolutely love it!! As for getting a job? I'm a hairstist so it's kinda expected of me! I know I probably wouldn't be able to get a desk job or anything fancy with how my hair is now! But I say go for it!! Your young and you only live once!!

Depends what colour you're talking about. If it's something very different to your natural colour then it will look obvious (not necessarily a bad thing) but something similar isn't too obvious. The majority of women I know colour their hair, because many get greys from late 20's, myself included. Their hair looks lovely and you couldn't tell its coloured unless you stop and think 'she's in her 40's without any grey, wow!'

I guess it depends on what color and how much your dyeing.i like a splash of color underneath some natural hair. But your mom is right. Some people may not hire you based on your appearance. It also depends on what kind of a job you are looking for. You are still young! I say go for it!!

Are we talking natural hair colors or like manic panic colors?  Your mom makes absolutely no sense, women dye their hair all the time, just look at your average celebrity.  Nobody's hair grows in ombre. ?

The point here is that you're an adult and you can choose to die your hair however you wish.  If you're looking for a corporate job, of course dying your hair purple wouldn't make sense for example.  Just keep in line with the industries you're seeking to work in and when in doubt, be more conservative/subtle.
