I want to scream!

Kendra
I don't get it. All day long my little guy does great. I can feed him, he falls asleep, I can put him in his crib and he will sleep for a bit. Or I can lay him down somewhere else, and for the most part, he will sleep for a bit. Why is it that as soon as it gets past 10 pm, he can no longer sleep unless you hold him?! I don't get it and I'm going crazy. He is 3 weeks old today, and he has been doing this for the past week and a half. Literally, at night, I'll finish feeding him, he will fall asleep, and I'll put him down in his crib and BAM awake. Or I'll just try to lay him down to fall asleep after feeding, and BAM whining and crying soon follows after. I seriously want to cry because this goes on all night. By the time I do get him to sleep on his own and not in my arms, it's time for him to eat again and then the stupid process starts all over again. I asked my doctor about sleeping patterns, and she told me that at this age there's no spoiling and to do whatever it takes for him to get to sleep, well at this point, that whatever is for him to sleep in my arms, which is exactly what they don't want when you're sleeping too!! What do I do?!?!
