Floaties for 3 month olds?

Hi we are going to be taking my little one to the Frio River for 4th of July and I am looking for a float for my little one. He's 3 months old and weighs 11 lbs. He's not going to be floating the river but we are going to be hanging out in the water and I need something for him. Can anyone give me any ideas? I can only find things 6+ months thanks!

I dont think they make anything for children younger than 6 months because thats the recommended age to take baby swimming. Even the sunscreen states that it shouldnt be used before 6 months. Baby's skin is super absorbent and any chemicals can easily be absorbed but not filtered correctly and they are also more susceptible to bacteria and anything else in the water. With that being said, i did buy a regular 6+month floaty for my 3 month old daughter that we use in the tub and it worked as great as can be expected since her head control isnt there yet.

What about a mesh water ring sling carrier?

Yeah I just read that. But I've used baby sunscreen on him a few times and it hasn't effected him. Though I live in Texas and have opted to use creamy baby oil to keep mosquitos from biting him over sunscreen and just kept him shaded. Maybe  I'll have to use a 6month old floaty. He's a pretty big 3 month old so it might help.

My LO's cousin is 4 months and she has one of the baby floats with the canopy. I plan on gettin my LO one.

So i got the mesh water sling and my lo loved it. In fact he slept the entire time we were on the water. He woke up 2 1/2 hours later and it was time to eat and change his diaper so we left.
