What brand is the best?

Spectra S2. Closed hygienic system and its hospital grade. Way more reliable and has way more settings/expressions than any other system. It also fits Avent bottles.

If insurance doesn't cover it, (which every insurance is required by law to cover it) I've found them on Amazon for $130.

I have the avent double. Works pretty good for me. 
If i had the money I would have bought a Medela based on the reviews.

I went with a Hygeia pump because it's a closed system. Several other brands are closed systems too but  I believe all Medela pumps except for the hospital grade pumps are open systems. You can look up the difference between open and closed systems, I don't think I can explain it well. Also, my pump runs on a battery or can plug in, I really like that, it is helpful if I forget something in the other room or baby starts to cry.

Have you asked your insurance provider if they offer free or discounted pumps? I got mine for free, the Medela pump in style advanced and I like it a lot.
