Any one else get horrid cramping while on the pill/ BC?

I started birth control maybe 3 years ago because I was having 14-day heavy periods with severe cramps and nausea. Since on the pill, my period comes for 3 days medium or light. My doctor (and everyone else I know on the pill) said the pill would help with PMS symptoms but it never did. I still get horrible back aches, severe cramping to the point I get light headed/faint, extremely nauseous. Also I don't know if it's normal but my feet swell and hurt on my period.

Does anyone else continue to get bad symptoms even though you're on BC ?
