Real contractions? Felt in the upper abdomen

I had back Labor with my first so I'm a little unsure. Am I having contractions? I feel them in the upper abdomen area, close too the ribs and lungs. It's painful but not unbearable..

I went to the hospital with those kind of contractions which were consistently 2-3 minutes apart all day but the nurse called them nonsense contractions since I wasn't dilating past a 1cm and sent me home. So it just depends, every woman is different. You can always go get checked out to make sure
