Does egg retrieval hurt?

I have just had my 6th iui and in tww. We are thinking of going for ivf if we don't get BFP this month.

Can anyone tell me their experiences with ivf? I want to know more about the procedure itself. Does egg retrieval hurt? How do they do it etc. We are in UK (not sure if overseas do things differently lol).

Basically the more eggs retrieved the longer the recovery tends to be. Some people are fine the next day, others like me (who had 24 retrieved) took 5 days to fully recover.  Either way it's nothing to worry about just plan on taking it easy for a few days.  Good luck 🍀

I'm in the US, I was asleep for egg retrieval so I didn't feel any plain till after. The pain was mild, didn't even have to take medication given to me for pain.
