Went into the hospital at 8am after a night of pains
Went into the hospital at 8am after a night of pains. Turns out I was 5cm dilated!
Waters hadn't broken so midwife gave me a sweep and I had gas and air for about 10 hours after which I had only dilated to 6cm!
Midwife broke my waters and noticed baby had pooed so I was transferred upto the doctors unit.
I was given pethidine to help with the pain but didn't feel the effects so had an epidural which was amazing through contractions but did nothing for me at the point of pushing. It was pain I didn't think existed!
After pushing for 1hr30 the doctor was saying I needed a caesarean as baby's head was stuck. They then decided to just cut me to help him out.
He was born at 00:13 on 20/06/16z
Weighing 8lb8.
They said my placenta was the biggest they'd ever seen!
Baby is 100% happy and healthy.
I lost a lot of blood and passed out twice whilst being transferred to the ward. I then passed out a couple more times when I tried to get up to go to the loo. My blood count had dropped from 14 to 9.
I was kept in until 7pm, after a few tests and an ECG I was discharged.
