HSG required to get Clomid?

I'm 100% certain that I have not been ovulating, so that's most likely the issue. But My gynecologist requires an HSG before prescribing Clomid. The insurance won't cover an HSG. I understand wanting to rule everything out at once, but is it usual to require this?

Well there isn't really any point in using clomid if you don't know if your tubes are blocked or not. But a lot of woman don't have a hsg before using clomid. I don't understand why though x

Same here. My insurance won’t cover from what the dr told me. He won’t prescribe until I have that and the sperm analysis done. The HSG is $850 and we just cannot do that right now.

The hospital here won't do that test on me they said it wasn't accurate enough: I do only have one tube not the as I suffered a ruptured ectopic X
