Home birth?

Question

Anyone considering, or set on, a home birth? I found out my insurance covers it, but does not cover a birthing center birth. So, we are looking into home birth options. It's exciting, but I know nothing!

I looked into hypnobirthing and waterbirths at a birth center and found a gyno that specializes in hypno birthing and she delivers at a hospital that does water births! Super excited! First pregnancy so not too sure what to expect and know it may not be perfect and things may not go as planned but if we can try and get it as close too natural as possible why not in my opinion. Check out pregnant in America and the Business of being born. Documentaries I think both on Netflix. I watched those when I was first looking into it. I'm planning a home birth, God willing this will be my 3rd home water birth! I've loved it. In holland it's the norm to deliver at home unless a mother is high risk. The rule of thumb is to deliver at home within 15 minutes from a hospital. 
I'm not against hospitals but I think if mom and baby are happy and healthy a home birth is ideal.

I want a at home water birth! But my insurance doesn't cover many birthing centers or midwives. They are all out of network. But we are looking into to see what are options are. So fingers crossed!

I would love to have a water birth at home, or at the hospital. Unfortunately where I live, the hospital doesn't offer water births and also we don't have midwives here.. Our obgyns are all strict with hospital births.. I was thinking of getting a doula, and still attempting a home birth. It's my body, my baby. And both of my births with my first two were pretty good. The hospital is literally 5 min walk from where my home is. What do you ladies think? I work at the hospital too, and honestly don't really like the nurses, and I don't want them looking or touching me. Lol.. I'm in a small town and we only have the one hospital. I had my first two there and it was alright, but I wished I did do something different.

I was born at home. My daughter was born at home in a birth tub. Wouldn't have had it any other way. I may have this baby at a birthing center with midwives because of insurance and all that. Not to mention I'm 40! But I highly recommend a home birthing experience. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Oh yes, definitely home birthing this time!
I wanted to with my first, but his father was violently opposed. Made my life miserable, eventually I just gave in & stopped fighting. Had a horrible traumatic birth in hospital made 1000x worse by my ex. I seriously regretted giving up on that dream, never again!
