Do you feel we need so many labels and spectrums when it comes to sexuality, gender and everything inbetween?

Keeping anonymous for obvious reasons.- I don't understand why we need so many labels for absolutely everything. Why can't people be attracted to whoever, identify as whatever they want and let that be that? I really do feel that labelling anything and everything can hold people back.
