Is your baby on a parent-led schedule?

Why or why not? What works for you? What's your baby's routine?

A lactation consultant at the hospital asked if my baby was on a schedule, at 7 weeks! I laughed and laughed lol I wasn't sure if she was serious but no, I can barely get the kid to nap when she's tired, let alone eat at certain times lol it's fine with me, this is my job right now so I will do what she wants and needs. I call her my Baby Overlord 😆

I'm not sure what a parent led schedule is...? Baby can only eat and sleep at certain times? Or more of a guideline. I do everything on baby's terms... If she's hungry, she gets fed... When she's sleepy, I put her down!

The only "schedule" is a loose guide of what times he'll be awake, which we've adapted to fit the fact that my husband works until 10:30 at night. So baby has a later bath and bedtime than most, and sleeps in. As far as feeding goes, he eats when he's hungry! The only exceptions are when I stuff an extra feeding in before we go somewhere, to prevent a meltdown later.

My daughter is almost 11 weeks old. I have not put her on a schedule. Her doctor says she's too young for me to put on a schedule so I just let her do her own thing. But she's basically on her own routine now. I understand why people put their babies on schedules but it just wasn't for me. I might try later on but her routine is working right now

My little dude is 9 weeks today.bhe kind of made up his OWN schedule around 4 weeks. He would be awake around the time daddy got in from work at 5 and stay up til after his bath at 9 with a power nap in between that time frame.

Once we introduced cereal at about 6 weeks for reflux, he adapted some of his schedule around that.

So here's what our day looks like:

10-11am: Wake up, cereal, poop, play, nurse
1-5pm: Nap, nurses around 3
5-9pm: play, nurse, power nap, nurse, cereal, poop
9pm: Bath, lotion, nurse, story, bed
2-3am: Nurse
6-7am: Nurse

He leads the way, but I can easily anticipate all of his needs. He almost never cries unless I'm busy finishing something up when he needs me.

I just feel that babies this young need what they need when they want it :) 
I will try for a little scheduling after he's at least 6 months.

Roughly,  his natural schedule is waking up at 6am then napping most of the morning between feedings until noon, has other naps but goes to bed for bedtime around 10-11, then he always wakes up at 2-3 for a feeding.

Our schedule doesn't have set times, but we do have a routine for each wake cycle. He wakes, eats, then we have wake time (play, diaper change, etc) until he has been awake for an hour and a half. Then i put him down gor a nap. He naps for 30-45 minutes, then we do it all again. Exception: I do adhere to a bedtime, so we start the last feeding of the day about 8:15. He eats as long as he wants and then goes to sleep. Obviously, things are different when we have errands or guests, but this is my general guide.

The only sort of schedule I lead is a bedtime. The rest of the day, I follow baby's lead.

I wish I could explain this concept to my 10 week old. Would make my life so much easier.  😂
