Natural (quick) FTM birth story 6/25/16
Thursday I went to my 39 week check up and was 3cm and 100%effaced. My dr did a membrane sweep while she was checking me and said she was surprised i wasn't already in labor.
All day Thursday nothing happened...
Friday I tried a bunch of old wives tales lol. I had pineapple with breakfast, made a green smoothie with dates in it for lunch (I had been eating them every few days my last month). Dinner we went out for Chinese food and I got spicy shrimp lol. We went to see a movie and I had mild contractions (5-6). No activity that night but Saturday morning I lost my mucus plug. Fell back asleep and woke up to some cramping and had bloody show.
After that things escalated very quickly! contractions started at 10am Got to hospital at 12:30pm since they were already super strong and only 2 minutes apart I knew I just couldn't labor at home much longer. Thank god we only live 10 minutes from hospital. 4cm when I arrived. Labored some in the tub and some standing or on all fours leaning on back of bed. Told nurse I was feeling a lot of pressure in my butt. When they checked I was 9cm.
Started pushing at 3:30pm she arrived at 4:17pm. 8lbs 1oz 20inches - no drugs!! Just the way I wanted it 💗
I did have some tearing inside and the stitching sucked (just when you think you're done!). But it's over and we did it! Both doing great (hubby also handled me puking on him, my water breaking on his feet lol so he gets some props today too!!). Water broke right before they checked me to see I was 9cm. Felt sooooo good when it broke!!
