Not ovulate but still have a period ?

Question

So I was reading online. Doing research. I have long cycles like 40-45 and this cycle was 50!!!  And it said. That ovulation could not be occurring but how I get my period ? It says the lining of the uterus. Gets so thick that it will break and bleed like a period. Is that true or ?

What Causes Long Menstrual Cycles? Longer cycles are caused by a lack of regular ovulation. During a normal cycle, it is the fall of progesterone that brings upon bleeding. If a follicle does not mature and ovulate, progesterone is never released and the lining of the uterus continues to build in response to estrogen. Eventually, the lining gets so thick that it becomes unstable and like a tower of blocks, eventually falls and bleeding occurs. This bleeding can be unpredictable, and oftentimes very heavy and lasting a prolonged period of time.

You will still have a period not sure how it works but my cycles are the same so long I'm up to 42 days and still no period. My doctor has done some blood tests to check for ovulation you should go see them if your worried that's what I have done. Try not to worry though you are more than likely ovulating don't stress yourself out it will make your periods worse 😘
