I think there are differing opinions. My dr told me the third trimester technically starts at 26 1/2 weeks bc he divides 40 weeks into thirds. I think some others don't count the first 2 weeks of pregnancy (before the embryo is implanted) so they say 28 weeks is the start of the third trimester. I guess 27 weeks is just a nice compromise lol!
