Did you ever let your baby sleep on the same bed through the night?

Question

Being full aware of the dangers my sister would sleep with her baby when he was 6mo. However, she was very conscious of the baby seeing as she has always been a light sleeper. Have any of you done anything similar?

My sister has always done this with my nephew and my mom did this with all 4 of her kids.
I think it really just depends on how comfortable and aware you are. I think it can be a great bonding experience.

I Co slept with my dd from 1 week old .it was easy for nursing and bottle feeding. Great bonding too. Me and hubby loved it we knew she was safe.

My mom did this with all of her kids we all turns out fine. Its a great bonding experience. People on here need to stop being rude & hating.

It's not for everyone...do your research and make an informed decision for you and your family. I don't plan to co-sleep (in the bed at least but next to will do) beause my husband is a heavy sleeper but when my God daughter was born I help raise her the first 6 months of her life. I moved in with her mother because the father walked out on her she she was pregnant and we all slept in the same bed. This wasn't my child but I think her mother made a good decision on a case by case night by night basis. It's not all black and white. You cant say cause so and so did it I can and vise versa, because you heard some horror story doesn't mean no one ever should. You'll find some nights the answer is yes and sometimes it's no.Sorry for the long post but being such a a part of my god daughters life for the past year has made me so passionate about being educated on these things and make informed decisions not out of fear.

I would love to co-sleep when I have a baby but my SO smokes and that increases chances of SIDS and also he's a heavy sleeper. We have decided to get one of those co-sleeping crib things though. It has three rails and on the open side it's up against the bed. My SO and I have both decided that once I get pregnant he is going to stop smoking but a lot of people close to me and my family have had  children die because of SIDS. Only one of them was co-sleeping. It's a risk, but I know a lot of mommies that do it all the time.

I seen ppl in my community done this for the past 20 yrs of my life, the babies are perfectly fine. There really none prepare separate bedroom or crib for babies.

There are a lot of books out about co-sleeping. Check some out from the library and hear what experts have to say. I feel like everyone on this thread should do something similar instead of regurgitating "facts" that they've found online.

Lost a nephew to SIDS they let him sleep in the bed with them I am very against it.

Its far too dangerous and not worth the risk.
You can always say oh so and so did if and her baby was ok, but what about the ones who weren't?!?! My mum has had to go to scenes where parents have rolled onto and smothered the baby wtc. I won't take that chance. >:( they'll be in a Moses basked next to my bed. Of course I'll have then lie with me if I'm awake and supervising.
