Basal body thermometer??

Question

I was just wondering if using a new thermometer in the middle of a cycle could alter the temps.. I went on a trip and forgot my usual thermometer so I bought a new one .. I got really low readings with it .

Yes. I used to use a regular Vicks fever thermometer because it lit up in the dark. It works great and I always knew when I ovulated. Then I switched to an actual BBT thermometer bc I wanted more accurate readings and temps were a full degree lower. I'm sticking with the BBT thermometer for now and it works like a charm

Yes I've read you have to use same thermometer for the full cycle. I experimented with 2 I have as well and got different results.
