Cytotec ?

I'm being induced with cytotec on Wednesday I am 2cm dialated very soft and 80 percent effaced , I'm googling about cytotec and I've read nothing but bad experiences I trust my ob very much he's a wonderful doctor but all these horro stories are really scaring me any moms ever induced with cytotec?

No no cytotec is dangerous stuff it is used for abortions anything that is used for that I wouldnt want used for my babies I would really ask him to reconsider they do have other choices know your options

Doctor ordered three rounds of cytotec to soften  cervix for wife.  Then plan was to put on pitocin after.  Ended up only needing to rounds.  Put her in to labor. Went from a 3cm to a 10 after breaking water in an hour and had a baby 20 min later. It was the easiest and fastest labor I have ever seen.  No complaints here.

I've had four doses of cytotec with no problems. I know the reviews are scary but they do keep you closely monitored during it. The dose they gave me today has me contracting every two minutes currently.

Your body, your baby, your birth! Maybe you could ask why he's choosing Cytotec over Cervadil? Ask him to run through the risks and benefits of both options.

Everyone is different you can't base your decision on how a medication reacted with someone else. In allergic to tramadol which is like a basic pain killer, step one in pain management. No one ever believed me until one of my MWs said it is possible. Safe for some not for others. Go with your gut!

I went into the hospital at 5:00pm. I was already having some contractions so they just gave me a half dose around 7:00pm. At 10:30 pm I went to the bathroom to pee and when I came back my water broke. I was given another half dose around that time. I was only 1cm dilated when I was given the meds. 
I didn't have a lot of cramping or any painful contractions until after my water broke. I was started on pitocin around 3am, I went from 1cm to 5 cm between that night and 8am but then I just stopped at 5 cm and had no change past 5 cm and ended up with a csection.

Cytotec caused me to have painful cramps and contractions and only dialated me to 1cm. Everyone's body reacts differently. I also had cervidil and that didn't do anything but cause horrible contractions that didn't dialate me. I ended up having Doctor break my water and then I started pitocin. The bad part about cytotec is it's a pill so you can't remove and cervidil can take up to 12 hours to work on some women.

If I agree to induction (and that's a big IF!) they will use cervidil. I'm also 2cm and been that way since 38 weeks.
