Dating younger men...taboo?

I'm a year older than my boy friend, which really isn't much of a age difference. Despite the small age gap, I've had people ask me why would I date a guy younger than me? As if it were a bad thing. Why is it seemingly taboo for women to be the older one in the relationship?

My husband is a little over a year younger than me. Date who you want.

I think the maturity thing is part of why it is seemingly taboo. But also, your biological clock matters and his doesn't really. Depending on how many children you want, you should start having kids at a younger age. If you are with an older guy it isn't as much of an issue, they are generally more established in life and ready for kids when you are.

My friend is my age and her husband is 3 years younger, she is SUPER baby hungry now that I am pregnant but her husband isn't ready. She is getting really frustrated with him and I keep trying to explain that while she and I are the same age, our husbands are still at different points in their lives.

My DF is 20 years younger than me. We get all sorts of reactions. Some women my age act like they're mad at me. We've gone to parties and younger women act like they're mad at me too. Lmao. People think I chased him down and took advantage of him but nothing could be farther from the truth. He is all alpha male and had no problem pursuing me.  I'd never dated anyone younger; he'd never dated anyone older; so neither of us was on the hunt for a Cougar-Pup relationship.  Simply put we just feel in love; nothing sordid about it at all but yes, the taboo will be with us forever unfortunately.

I'm guessing you're under 21? It's because as a rule girls mature much faster than boys (we have to) so someone a year younger than yoh would be as a rule of thumb much less mature. That's not true for all situations though, you just carry on regardless.
