How far are you comfortable traveling?

During your third trimester, how far from your doctor are you comfortable traveling?

I'm 30 weeks now and my SIL just told me she wants to plan a shower for me but it would be a 5 hour drive away. Am I crazy for wanting to say no? I feel like it's too last minute/ and I'm too busy, plus I really don't want to go that far away. Maybe if it was this weekend haha but it seems too late to just now start planning. Am I being rude if I say no thanks?

I was thinking of traveling 2.5-3 hours away for two nights next week. At that point I'll be 38 weeks and change. My doctors have all said that the onset of labor is lengthily and that if I hAve to come home, while potentially uncomfortable, I would certainly make it (as a passenger, not the driver). So, I think you could go but only if you feel confident. That's the threshold...

It depends on how far you'll be at the time of the shower! Anything before 35-36 weeks, I think I would be okay with. After 36, probably not.

I went with my parents to Tennessee which is 7 1/2 hours away from my home at 34 weeks. My sister had her baby so I couldn't not go, but it was definitely stressful since my husband wasn't even with me.

I traveled 41/2 hours for my baby shower at 36 weeks...my husband drove so it wasn't that bad for me.

I'm 32 weeks right now and just travelled 9 hours away to see my mom before the babies born.

My baby shower was in California and I was 32-33weeks pregnant when I traveled to mine. I live in Texas.

Not that far...... they tried to give me a doctor's appointment an hour and a half away and I told him no I got on the phone to my own insurance and found a doctor who is proficient in the same practice that's only 30 minutes away from me

I canceled my shower Friday for this Saturday and it was a three hour drive away. I'm a FTM who has recently found out that baby is SGA with suspected IUGR. I rather be close then far away and anxious

I think it's entirely up to you :) if you aren't comfortable doing it, I wouldn't.

You're quite early in your 'thirties' so I would say when I was 30 weeks id prob travel that far. Now I'm over 37 weeks that would be a definite no 😳
