Test or no test?

Question

So I was having strong pregnancy like symptoms but I don't have any today besides the fact that my period is now 3 days late. I was thinking about waiting until I come back from vacation so about 3 weeks from now, before going to the doctor to get what I need to show my man. We weren't ttc so I don't know how he will take it with me waiting so long to tell him if I am. My point is should I test now or wait like I planned? Also what does it mean to have a false chemical positive?

I think you should test now just for the fact that if you find out you're pregnant then that will give you more of an incentive to eat well, not drink, and not smoke. It is very important in the first few weeks of conception to get adequate amounts of folate either by eating leafy greens or taking prenatal vitamins. So, if I were you I would test now so you can make these important lifestyle changes right away especially if you haven't been doing these things before conception.
