Husband bad temper!!!!!!

My husband is really strict, we have a 3 year old son and he knows when his daddy say its enough he better behaves and he does. So today my neighbor/friend and her almost 3 year old kid came cause she got her electricity disconnected cause she didnt pay and she asked me if she could use my phone and while I was helping her our kids were playing together and they started to fight over a toy so the little kid pushed my son over the door and hit him with a dinosour and my husband literally yelled at him so loud I thought it looked really bad. So my friend took her kid and put him in time out in a chair and made him stay there until he apologized and also told him not to hit at the end he did apologized. It was really akward.  When I finally had the chance to talk to my husband I told him that I didnt think it was right to yelled at somebody else's kid and he told me he deserved cause that kid is a ******** brat and now he doesnt want my kid playing with the boy.  Do you guys think was ok!? I get along with mom and I dont know what to do and at the same time I feel really embarased.
