How do I avoid my son having to get those silver teeth?

I've seen so many little kids with them but I would really to know how I can avoid my son getting them & why they get them

Best thing for you to do is limit sugar intake. Make sure your kids get enough vitamin d and calcium and have good oral hygiene. And know that the caps are avoidable. Cavities are reversible and healable. I'd also look into making your own calcium rich toothpaste!

I had one when I was little. It's from a really bad cavity that almost the whole tooth is decaying, but they don't want to pull it because of age or use of the tooth. I had really sensitive teeth when I was little because my baby teeth came in with little to no enamel on them, but for a kid with no known problems, good oral hygiene and regular dentist visits should be enough to prevent it.

Our son has one. He has two spots opposite sides that he has soft spots. The dentist can't explain it because the rest of his teeth his enamel is great but for now we have one. When his permanent tooth comes in he will lose it just like a regular tooth.
