How can I skip my period?

I'm supposed to start my period today and tomorrow I'm going to raging waters with my boyfriend. Is there any way I could skip my period? I've heard birth control stops it sometimes but i don't know exactly how it works. Anything helps. Also I've never wore a tampon and I'm not sure if I can put one on or if I can go in the pools and watersides.

The birth control trick only works if youve been on the pill long enough for your period to adjust to it then you skip the sugar pills and go to the next pack i would just try a tampon out - you can practice now before your period if you want (id maybe use lube if you do though lol) so your not super stressing tomorrow before going but theres no way to actually prevent it from happening

If you're on the BC pill, to keep your period from happening, continuously take the hormone pills when you're supposed to take the "sugar pills" since those allow you to have your period. But I would recommend a trying a tampon, it'll be more efficient in this time crunch. You can try something new and be prepared next time you go in water.

You can't stop it once it's already about to start. Your best bet would be a tampon you can do anything while wearing one. Just read the directions on the box
