Big brother to be at first dr appt?

My son, 6 yr old, is really really excited to be a big bro. My 1st appointment is July 14th. He asked if he can come with us to see his baby bro/sister.  We of course said yes, but now I'm having second thoughts. What if something goes wrong or it freaks him out. Any ideas or experiences with you first born at the ob with you?

My son was off school when I went in for a scan. I had him wait in the waiting room playing with his tablet and I showed him the picture when we came out. He's 9 so was ok to be on his own. Best to ask if they're allowed in, and have him wait til you know everything's fine before having hin come into the room

I have a 5 year old son. He's been asking for a baby sister for 2 years and praying for one the last 6 months! After two miscarriages we're going to wait until after 12 weeks to tell him. Just so we don't break his heart again. But my opinion would be not the first ultrasound, maybe the next one or if you do a 4D later on.

I'm not even telling my 7yo until we announce, he's WAY too impatient to handle that long a wait. He's baby obsessed but he can get his baby fix from his aunty for now as she's 5m ahead of me

During my last pregnancy we were advised not to have siblings at first ultrasound just incase!! It was the right decision unfortunately 🙁 there will be others for big bro to attend and he'll be able to see more too 🤗😍
