Umbilical cord/belly button questiob

Im going to call my sons pediatrician in the morning but....his umbilical cord fell off just about a week ago. He is two weeks old today. At his check up last week i told the dr that his belly button had been bleeding since the cord came out and she said it should dry up in a couple of days. Well here we are five days later and its still bleeding anyone elses baby experiencing this? Is it normal? Should it be happening this long?
