How was the experience with your first child?

Everyone tells me they dont know how i put up with my child. He is a big handful and you have to have a lot of patience with him. Anyone else have the same experience with their child? Is there hope of the 2nd child being more well behaved?

My son's are complete opposite. My oldest was a very calm baby, never cried or got into things as a toddler my second has been a little terror since he arrive 6 weeks early ( I say that with love, I wouldn't change a thing about him). A friend of my husband's said the oldest is just like me and the youngest just like my husband. I think you never know what your going to get but you love them anyway.

I have 2 boys almost 6 years apart and my oldest was so easy . Sleep through the night at 3 weeks. He loves to cuddle and listened. My youngest is a handful. Don't like to cuddle and don't listen... so it all depends . I wouldn't change them bit does get irritating at times

My friends have had the same experience with their first & their second child was & still is the opposite. I too was a handful & my younger brother the opposite, so it seems they balance eachother out. I can list close to 10 ppl with an active & quiet child :) so don't fret it ...

My first was and still is a very high maintenance child. She could never just play by herself and still needed to be fed to sleep till she was nearly 3. Even at 6 she still needs constant interaction and is really hard work. My second on the other hand never really cried unless he needed something, which didn't happen alot anyway since I learnt much sooner what his whinges meant. He started sleeping through at 10 months and can self settle. He's more than happy to sit and play by himself or sit and cuddle. In comparison he's a very low maintenance baby. I think the second time round is easier because you've done it all before so already know what cry means what and are second guessing yourself less.
