I love it. It's so much easier to nurse with a nursing bra. Plus it offers support.

Some sports bras would work.  It depends on how stretchy the fabric is and if it's a cross-over design.  I also have one that the straps are Velcro at the front and I could get the boob out that way.  I prefer nursing bras but you could test a few sports bras out if that's what you want.  Just put one on and see how easy it is to get the boob out.  Make sure you try it with a shirt on to get an idea of the process.

I'm a first time mom and planning on nursing - I was a 32B prepregnancy and have only grown a little at now almost 29 weeks. I bought a bunch of bandeau bras from Amazon (6 for $20) figuring they are comfy and will be easy to maneuver while nursing! We'll see!
