Swimming? When did u take your LO in water?

My LO is 4 months, I'd like to take him into a pool. Is it to early? Post your story and items you use that helped your hunny be safe in the sun and pool/beach.

We swam at 3 weeks- he loved it. We just stayed in the shade, and his little shark has some sun blocking qualities.

I took Max at 2 months! He loved it! He cried when I took him out! Lol

We went last Sunday when he was around 4 and a half months old. Used sun screen and kept his face out of the sun. He loved it!!

We turned our hot tub down and took him in at 6weeks. And we go to the river often. If he likes it I put him in. Its whatever you as a mom feel okay with.

We took my daughter at 2 months to our neighborhood indoor pool. It was hard finding swim diapers that fit that small, but we made it work.

It's all about your comfort level. 4 months is too young for sunscreen, so an spf full coverage bathing suit and a sun hat is helpful, as well as a tiny sun tent that has spf in the fabric for a place to rest. My son first went in a pool around 4 months. He loved it!

I took my son to the pool very late in age, he was 10 months. I wish I'd taken him earlier, but mommy is terrified of water. But hubby enrolled all 3 of us in family swim classes. I hope I can conquer my fear so I can be there with my son on swim days. Daddy said our little man LOVED the pool!

I took my daughter at 14 weeks for the first time. I used a reusable swim diaper, a rash guard I think they are called where it's long sleeve and covered her upper body. And a hat. Tried to keep her in the shade as much as possible. I never put her all the way under. The pools I have taken her in so far have been saltwater pools so I haven't been as worried

If you have safe t swim near you they offer free swim lessons for 2-6 months of age. At 2 months old we have our first swim lesson next week!
