Who's problem?

I hate how everyone says if someone has trust issues it's the person's problem/fault. But how is it their fault if a person constantly lied to them & made them feel like the person can't be trusted?

The person broke your trust but if you stay with them then it's your fault too. If you decide to accept someone's apology and "trust" them not to do it again, you can't keep bring it up or snooping through their phone or be paranoid etc...and they need to hols up their end of the deal.

I think people get those two things confused. If someone is lying to you, they are causing themselves to seem untrustworthy to you, and that is understandable. It makes your relationship feel unstable, which can cause feelings of insecurity. Now it's a totally different thing to just think that your partner is always doing you wrong, when they've never given you a reason to think that. That is when the trust issue is within you. In that case, you may think your partner is doing you wrong with the smallest actions that don't necessarily mean they are doing anything wrong or trying to hurt you.
