Measuring baby??

Question

I alway see posts of moms knowing how big their baby is measuring. I'm 35 weeks and my doctor has never measured my baby to tell me how many pounds he is at. Is this normal?

They take measurements during my scans and my husband always ask. We had our 3D done this last week and that's when we were told she's already over 5 pounds. If you don't ask they usually don't mention it.

I was never told with my first and haven't been told with this one either,take it as a good sign you aren't high risk needing constant checks

Its totally normal! And a good sign your doctir hasnt told you. Most insurances wont cover and ultrasound after the 20 week anatomy scan and checking weight by ultrasound is close but not entirly accurate. Some doctors can feel your belly and take a guess about how big they think baby is but thats definitely not 100 % either. I was high risk so i had to have an ultrasound every single week and i knew what her weight was. When they decided to deliever me early at 29 weeks i freaked out because i knew how tiny she really was.

With my first pregnancy, they never measured my baby. 
This pregnancy, they measured him once at my last ultrasound and said he weighed about 4 pounds. So I think that it is normal, it just depends on the doctor. Maybe ask and see if they will measure baby if you want to know?
