Twins - when do you find out??

At what point do you find out if you are having twins? I would love twins (and they kinda run my family). Can they tell you at the first appointment?

I had twins and they found out at 8 weeks, than 4 days after that I lost them?. I had sppoting at 5 weeks went to the hospital they checked me with ultrasound and the doctor find out only one heart beat, so mine was at 8 weeks. 
I hope you will have twins and hope everything goes perfect for you and the babies ?

I went in for my first ultrasound at 10 weeks (last week) and I had twins but only one heartbeat. They called it vanishing twin, I giess the one will just dissolve into the tissues. If we had waited a couple more weeks, they said we would've never know there were 2! Best of luck to you and hopefully your 2 babies!! ?

They should definitely be able to tell you at your first ultrasound. They would find two sacks in your womb, as opposed to just one. I was hoping for twins, as they run in my family as well. Just one baby for me though! Good luck!
